PARENTS USEFUL INFORMATION

If a child has to leave before the end of Madressa session, the parents must inform the Madressa office.

Students should not be dropped off more than 15 minutes before Madressa begins, and they must be collected within 15 minutes after Madressa ends.

Administration Fees
A normal administration fee will be charged for each student. Parents are advised to settle the fees on the enrolment day or on admission.

Preparation for class
The teacher expects students to come to class prepared with the required materials.  Parents are encouraged to check the Diary and regularly keep in touch with what is being taught and what homework has been assigned.

Progress Reporting to Parents
Reports are issued before a Parents Day so that parents can discuss these with the teachers and at the end of the year. Teachers are expected to test their students regularly to assess their progress. The teachers will inform the students of upcoming tests.  The parents should stay in regular contact with the teacher so that there aren’t any surprises at the end of the year.  Parents are required to attend Parents’ Day to keep up with their children’s progress.

Supervision
We make an effort to provide supervision on Madressa grounds during the Madressa hours.  We ask that students do not arrive too early.  Please be prompt in this aspect because our Madressa volunteers also lead busy lives.  If there are any unforeseen circumstances, please notify us at the Madressa office.  Make sure you personally talk to one of the administrators.  We appreciate your cooperation in this matter
Please ensure to collect you child within 15 minutes after Madressa ends, as there will be no supervision after this time.
Telephone Use
The students are discouraged from bringing mobile phones to the Madressa. Any students found using a mobile phone during lesson time will have their phone confiscated and returned at home time.
Parents will be contacted by the administration staff in an emergency.
Sickness
If a student becomes ill during Madressa, the parents will be called to come and pick up the child.  If a student is suffering from any chronic disease the parents must inform the administration staff.

Injury
If a student is injured at the Madressa, he/she should report to one of the Madressa staff.  Parents will be contacted if more than basic first aid is required.

Homework
Homework is an integral part of the learning process.  Teachers are encouraged to assign homework.  We appreciate the fact that children get quite a bit of home work from regular school.  Our policy is not to burden the children but to reinforce the class work.  We will keep homework to a minimum.  Please emphasise the importance of Madressa work to your child.  Make sure they submit their assignments at the given time.

Safety
Please drive carefully and slowly when dropping off and collecting your child.  Please explain to your child not to run around.  Expect the unpredictability of children’s movements.  Ask your children to be alert to oncoming cars.  Also advise your children to stay well within the Madressa boundaries.  Parents are urged to drop and collect their children under the age of 8 to and form their classes.

Note to Parents

Parents play a vital role in the success of their children’s studies.  To ensure that each child reaches his/her full potential, please take the following steps:

1. Keep your child’s attendance regular and on time.
2. Make sure your child has had a good breakfast and a proper night’s sleep.  Ensure that your child brings a packed lunch or snack and a drink for break.
3. Pick up your children promptly after Madressa hours.
4. Please inform Madressa of any planned absences, at least a week in advance.  It is best to contact your child’s teacher, so that you can make note of what assignments will be missed.
